Cherry Blossom season!!

To me, it's not really Spring, until I start seeing cherry trees blooming with fluffy pink and white petals!! Cherry blossom is one of my favorite flowers ... it's also one of my favorite fragrances - most of my lotion, shower cream and perfume all have a touch of cherry blossom in the ingredient.

These sketches are drawn at the Descanso Garden. Right now is one of the best time of the year to visit the garden, many flowers are blooming, the garden is cover with amazing spring color!! And of course, all the cherry trees are blooming. I was hoping to paint more then two paintings today ... but then ... half way through the paintings ... I get hungry and start day dreaming about Sicilian gelato in a bun ... so I take off, call up my friend up and look for dessert ... But I would love to go back again soon ... may be sometime next week!!

I would love to invite you to the opening reception night of the HIVE's 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW. I am one of the participating artists in this exciting show and their up-coming anniversary book, "A Field Guide to the Denizens of Hiveland." I am showing the original painting of the piece from the book.

You are a cherry blossom girl, like that song...
Beautiful interpretation of the place you like. I think I want to sit there and feel all those flowers blooming around me.
We are in autumn down here, and I think every season has its magical side. Love from Argentina!

Gorgeous work. I always feel inspired looking at all your studies and illustrations. I haven't blogged an IF topic for a while. I should do more observational sketching too. Your Sketchcrawl club sounds interesting.

Beautiful work! I miss warm weather - today we had 14 degrees with the windchill. Tomorrows going to be in the 50s so maybe I can go out and draw.

Alina, every time I come here my mind is boggled by the enormity and the vastness of your talent. I practically panic like a child in a candy store. Each image as great as the next. Your watercolors are so lovely, you make it look so very easy. I wish I lived nearby, if only to watch you sketch, paint or animate. You truly are a magnificent artist and woman. I have known your as an artist blogger for many years and you never show any signs of waning. You are a gift and an inspiration. I may not come and visit everyday and with every post, but maybe I should. I could not handle all these things I missed in one visit!

Take care Alina.

Cherry trees add a very colourful touch to the lanscape these days.
Not so long-lasting condition as we would like. :-/
But, no problem...
Painting them you can enjoy its beautifulness all the year round!
