YAY!! Finally I can talk about a secret project, which I am part of. The "Totoro Forest Project" - The project is an international charity effort to save Sayama forest in Japan - it's the same forest inspired the beloved Studio Ghibli film, My Neighbor Totoro. The project is organized by DiceTsutsumi. There will be a benefit auction at Pixar on September 6th, and an artworks featuring all the 200 beautiful artworks will be available at the event as well!! To learn more about this meaningful and exciting project, you can visit the Totoro Forest Project Official Web Site.

The top is my painting for the event, and the pages below are the concept sketches.

wow-zer, i really like them all, but am particularly fond of the detail on the tree near the overfed rabbit (middle piece). it is really nice to see parts of your thought process!
wonderful colors as always.
I love the paintings (your best style in my opinion) and also the idea that is behind.
Any effort in this direction will always count with my support.
Regards

I love your entry for the auction, I wish I lived up in NorCal so I could attend the event! Unfortunately I think a friend of mine is getting married that weekend so I won't be able to visit Pixar. Oh well... are you going?

Thanks for your very nice comment Alina. Your piece is wonderful. Following your art is delightful.
I wish I could be there in SF next september to look at it in person too ;)
Dice is amazing.
i saw your piece on the website and thought it was lovely. I rather like the concept of the girl feeding the creature under the tree, but the final is wonderful as well. (:
do you have a more extensive process when you're developing your pieces? or are these concept sketches the extent of your process before you go into the final piece...?
THank you all.
Carrie liao,
Thank you.
I have a few even more rough sketches ... actually they are more like doodles ... while I am brainstorming the ideas. But those are very rough and kind of messy line drawings. So these are the most detail sketches I have before I painted it. :P
Beautiful Alina.:o)
Wonderful stuff! You make it look so simple! Great watercolors, dang!
What a wonderful thing! Your art for the benefit is awesome :)
